Who C2 is for
C2 builds on C1, so it is best after the A1 to C1 lessons. It is not locked: if any C1 lesson feels new, review it first at C1 Advanced Arabic.
The lessons
0 of 3 C2 lessons completed on this browser
- Not started Lesson 1: Hedging and Nuance — Express degrees of certainty, qualify a claim, and avoid overstating. (10 phrases)
- Not started Lesson 2: Emphasis and Restriction — Stress a point, restrict a claim to one thing, and add force with indeed, even and not only. (10 phrases)
- Not started Lesson 3: Structuring a Formal Argument — Organize a formal argument: define, add, contrast, conclude, and acknowledge difficulties. (10 phrases)
What is new at C2
- Hedging and nuance: “it seems that”, “most likely”, “to some extent”, and saying you cannot be certain.
- Emphasis and restriction: “only” with la … illa and innama, “indeed” with laqad, “not only … but”, and “even”.
- Structuring a formal argument: first point, moreover, from this standpoint, in contrast, hence, in sum.
Each lesson has phrases, listening with your browser voice, practice, a speaking task, a short conversation and a six-question quiz, the same shape as every other level.
Still to come
- Planned More C2 lessons, for example writing a formal letter, summarizing a long text, and weighing two competing views.
- Planned A C2 level check and a C2 speaking challenge.
- Planned Native-speaker review of the C2 Arabic.
Which Arabic is this?
C2 teaches Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), like every level from A1 to C1. The Gulf word bank is a separate regional extension and is not part of C2.
