About HikmahBridge
Sources & Methodology
How HikmahBridge selects, presents and reviews the material in its library. Sources are being progressively documented as this library expands.
Qur’an
Arabic text, translations and verse metadata in the Qur’an Reader are retrieved from established open Qur’an data services (including the AlQuran Cloud API) and displayed as supplied. Recitation audio is streamed from named reciters served by those providers. Translations are shown as translations, clearly separate from the Arabic.
Hadith
The Hadith Library draws Arabic text and English translations, collection by collection, from the public fawazahmed0/hadith-api dataset, covering the six canonical Sunni collections (Kutub al-Sittah): Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Sunan Abi Dawud, Jami’ at-Tirmidhi, Sunan al-Nasa’i and Sunan Ibn Majah.
- Gradings are shown exactly as supplied by that source and attributed to the scholar who issued them.
- HikmahBridge does not grade Hadith itself and does not claim independent scholarly verification.
- Where a collection’s dataset has no grading or no transliteration, that is shown as unavailable rather than filled in.
Tafsir
The Tafsir section presents an abridged English translation and an Urdu translation of Tafsir al-Qur’an al-‘Azim by Imam Isma’il ibn Kathir, retrieved from the spa5k/tafsir_api dataset (English hosted by Qul / Tarteel AI; Urdu via Quran.com), shown by Surah and Ayah exactly as supplied.
This digital edition is organised by Surah and Ayah, not by print-volume numbers, so no volume scheme has been added. No Tafsir text is paraphrased, condensed by us, or AI-generated.
Fiqh and practical guides
Guides on worship, family life and related topics are written to reflect mainstream Sunni teaching and are intended as general education. They are not fatwa. For a ruling on your own circumstances, consult a qualified scholar familiar with your situation.
Scholarly works and quotations
Where a guide or article refers to a scholar or a classical work, it names it. Statements are not attributed to scholars, or to “the scholars” as a group, without a basis.
Translation methodology
Translations are presented from their published or dataset source and identified as translations, never as the original Arabic. Meaning can shift between translations; where a difference matters for understanding, we try to note it rather than smooth it over.
Audio sources
- Audio is only added when a specific, identifiable recording can be verified.
- The Tafsir Urdu audio is a public Internet Archive recording of a full-surah Urdu narration (translation by Maulana Muhammad Junagarhi). It is labelled as full-surah and is not synchronised to individual ayahs.
- No English Tafsir audio is offered, because no suitable verified recording was found. It is left out rather than replaced with something unverifiable.
- Any third-party audio is attributed to its source and platform, and is streamed from that platform — HikmahBridge does not host or own third-party recordings.
Editorial review
New sections and guides are checked before publication for accuracy of sources, plain language and correct status labelling. This is an ongoing process, and the library is still growing — some areas are more fully documented than others.
Handling differences of opinion
Islam has a long tradition of legitimate scholarly difference. Where a matter is disputed among mainstream scholars, HikmahBridge aims to present it as a point of difference rather than assert a single answer, and to point readers to qualified scholars for a decision.
Corrections policy
If you find an error — a mis-attributed narration, a broken source link, a translation problem, a wrong status label — please tell us through the contact page. We review every report and correct confirmed errors.
