For New & Practising Muslims

The New Muslim Learning Path

A structured, honest roadmap for the first months of learning — ten phases from belief to daily practice. Some lessons are ready today; most are still being written and checked against their sources. Nothing here is marked available unless it genuinely is.

These three resources are live right now and cover the most important first steps.

Your Full Learning Roadmap

Ten phases, from first belief to daily practice. Each lesson below is labelled honestly — Available links to something real and live today; Planned means the lesson is not written yet and will only publish once it is checked against its sources.

Phase 8

Fasting & Ramadan

The Ramadan Learning Hub already covers the basics honestly, including where exemptions need a scholar’s guidance rather than a general answer.

Your Next 12 Months — A Suggested Order

If you only follow one path through the available lessons above, this is a sensible order to try them in.

  1. New Muslim Foundations — the overall orientation
  2. Qur’an Reader — start reading and listening daily
  3. Wudu & the five daily prayers — on the Worship hub
  4. Guide to Salah — for full step-by-step depth
  5. Qur’an Course — Arabic letters through guided reading
  6. Tajweed basics — once reading feels comfortable
  7. Tafsir Ibn Kathir — start understanding meaning, not just text
  8. Starter Duas & Adhkar — build a daily remembrance habit
  9. Ramadan Learning Hub — before your first Ramadan arrives
  10. Zakat & Sadaqah overview — on the Worship hub
  11. Family hub — marriage, parenting and raising children
  12. Hajj & Umrah hub — when you’re ready to learn the rites
  13. Hifz Tracker — begin memorising short surahs

How Future Lessons Will Work

This is the plan for every “Planned” lesson above — not something built yet, so you know what to expect when it publishes.

  1. A short, focused reading — one topic, not a wall of text.
  2. Key Arabic terms explained in plain English.
  3. Sources cited by name — Qur’an ayah or a named Hadith collection — so you can verify it yourself.
  4. Recitation or narration audio, where a verified recording exists.
  5. A short reflection question, not a graded quiz.
  6. A way to mark the lesson as done, saved privately in your browser.

Nothing is published until it is checked against its sources. We would rather leave a lesson marked “Planned” than fill it with something unverified.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a complete course I can finish today?

Every lesson on this roadmap is now written and live, but it is not meant to be finished in a single sitting. Ten phases of foundational and practical material is a lot to take in at once — treat this as a self-paced course to work through gradually, not a single reading.

What if new topics are added to this roadmap later?

The same standard applies going forward: HikmahBridge would rather publish fewer lessons that are properly sourced than many written quickly. Any future addition to this roadmap will only go live once it has been checked against the Qur’an and authentic Sunnah, the same way everything currently on this page was.

Do I have to follow the phases in order?

No. The phases are a helpful structure, not a strict requirement. Many new Muslims start with Salah and the Qur’an Reader alongside the New Muslim Foundations guide, then move through the rest at their own pace.

Does this replace learning from a teacher or scholar?

No. HikmahBridge is an educational resource. It does not replace learning from a qualified teacher or scholar, especially for matters of fiqh that depend on your individual situation.

Will I get notified when new lessons launch?

A subscription option is being set up — in the meantime, use the contact page to hear as each lesson is written, checked and published.

How This Roadmap Is Built

  • Honest labelling. A lesson is only marked Available if it links to something real and live today.
  • No filler. We would rather show a Planned chip than publish a shallow, quickly-written lesson.
  • Sources first. The Qur’an and authentic Sunnah are the central sources for everything published here, with references so you can verify them yourself.
  • Scholarly differences acknowledged. Where matters of fiqh genuinely differ between scholars, that will be identified rather than hidden.
  • A companion, not a replacement. This roadmap supports — it does not replace — learning from a qualified teacher.
