These are the remembrances said as the day ends, mostly the same as the morning set with minor wording changes. Read slowly and with attention. The Arabic is the reliable text; the transliteration is a pronunciation aid.

“Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.”
Surah Al-Baqarah — 2:255 (Ayat al-Kursi)
When to read: Recite once in the evening. Also recited after every obligatory prayer and before sleep.
“The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the believers. All of them have believed in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers, [saying], "We make no distinction between any of His messengers." And they say, "We hear and we obey. [We seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the [final] destination." Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity. It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned. "Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people."”
Surah Al-Baqarah — 2:285-286
When to read: Recite once in the evening. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said whoever recites the last two verses of Surah al-Baqarah at night, they will suffice him (Sahih al-Bukhari 5009).
Qul huwa Allahu ahad. Allahu s-samad. Lam yalid wa lam yulad. Wa lam yakun lahu kufuwan ahad.
“1. Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One, 2. Allah, the Eternal Refuge. 3. He neither begets nor is born, 4. Nor is there to Him any equivalent."”
Surah Al-Ikhlas — 112 - recite 3 times
When to read: Recite three times each evening with al-Falaq and an-Nas (Sunan Abi Dawud 5082, hasan).
Qul a'udhu bi-rabbi l-falaq. Min sharri ma khalaq. Wa min sharri ghasiqin idha waqab. Wa min sharri n-naffathati fi l-'uqad. Wa min sharri hasidin idha hasad.
“1. Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak 2. From the evil of that which He created 3. And from the evil of darkness when it settles 4. And from the evil of the blowers in knots 5. And from the evil of an envier when he envies."”
Surah Al-Falaq — 113 - recite 3 times
When to read: Recite three times each evening.
Qul a'udhu bi-rabbi n-nas. Maliki n-nas. Ilahi n-nas. Min sharri l-waswasi l-khannas. Alladhi yuwaswisu fi suduri n-nas. Mina l-jinnati wa n-nas.
“1. Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, 2. The Sovereign of mankind. 3. The God of mankind, 4. From the evil of the retreating whisperer - 5. Who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind - 6. From among the jinn and mankind."”
Surah An-Nas — 114 - recite 3 times
When to read: Recite three times each evening, completing the three protective surahs.
Hadith
Allahumma bika amsayna, wa bika nahya, wa bika namutu, wa ilayka n-nushur.
O Allah, by You we enter the evening, by You we live and by You we die, and to You is the resurrection.
Sunan Abi Dawud, no. 5068 — graded hasan by al-Albani.
When to read: Say once in the evening. (The morning wording adds "wa bika asbahna".)
Amsayna wa amsa l-mulku lillah, wa l-hamdu lillah, la ilaha illa Allahu wahdahu la sharika lah. Lahu l-mulku wa lahu l-hamd, wa Huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir. Rabbi as'aluka khayra ma fi hadhihi l-laylah wa khayra ma ba'daha, wa a'udhu bika min sharri ma fi hadhihi l-laylah wa sharri ma ba'daha. Rabbi a'udhu bika mina l-kasali wa su'i l-kibar. Rabbi a'udhu bika min 'adhabin fi n-nar wa 'adhabin fi l-qabr.
We have entered the evening and the whole dominion of Allah has entered the evening. Praise is Allah's. There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He has power over all things. My Lord, I ask You for the good of this night and the good after it, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of this night and the evil after it. My Lord, I seek refuge in You from laziness and the misery of old age. My Lord, I seek refuge in You from punishment in the Fire and punishment in the grave.
Sahih Muslim, no. 2723 .
When to read: Say once in the evening. In the morning, "amsayna" becomes "asbahna" and "this night" becomes "this day".
Allahumma anta Rabbi, la ilaha illa anta. Khalaqtani wa ana 'abduka, wa ana 'ala 'ahdika wa wa'dika ma-stata'tu. A'udhu bika min sharri ma sana'tu. Abu'u laka bi-ni'matika 'alayya, wa abu'u laka bi-dhanbi, fa-ghfir li, fa-innahu la yaghfiru dh-dhunuba illa anta.
O Allah, You are my Lord. There is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant, and I hold to Your covenant and Your promise as best I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your favour upon me, and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for none forgives sins except You.
Sahih al-Bukhari, no. 6306 .
When to read: Sayyid al-Istighfar. Say once in the evening and once in the morning. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said whoever says it at night with certainty and dies that night is among the people of Paradise.
Bismillahi lladhi la yadurru ma'a smihi shay'un fi l-ardi wa la fi s-sama', wa Huwa s-Sami'u l-'Alim.
In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in the heaven can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
