Duas for the Journey

The Talbiyah
Recited from the moment of entering ihram until the start of tawaf on arrival in Makkah.
لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ لَبَّيْكَ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَالْمُلْكَ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَكَ
Labbayka Allahumma labbayk, labbayka la sharika laka labbayk, innal-hamda wan-ni’mata laka wal-mulk, la sharika lak.
“Here I am at Your service, O Allah, here I am. Here I am, You have no partner, here I am. Verily all praise, grace and sovereignty belong to You. You have no partner.”
Reported by Ibn ’Umar as the Talbiyah of the Prophet — Sahih Muslim, 2811.
It is Sunnah to repeat the Talbiyah frequently while travelling to Makkah, raising the voice (for men) as an expression of devotion, not to compete with or disturb others.
Between the Yemeni Corner and the Black Stone
Widely known as the dua recited on that stretch of each circuit of tawaf.
وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَقُولُ رَبَّنَآ ءَاتِنَا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةًۭ وَفِى ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ حَسَنَةًۭ وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ
Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati hasanatan wa qina ’adhaban-nar.
“But among them is he who says, “Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.””
Qur’an 2:201. A hadith reports that “the Prophet used to say” this dua often (Sahih al-Bukhari, 4522); it is widely reported and well known among scholars of the rites as the dua recited between the Yemeni Corner and the Black Stone during tawaf.
