Frequently asked questions

Short, honest answers about what HikmahBridge offers, where its content comes from, and how saved progress works.

General

What is HikmahBridge?

A practical companion for learning, understanding and living Islam. It brings together an interactive Qur’an reader, a Qur’an reading and Tajweed course, the Tafsir of Ibn Kathir, a Hadith library, a memorisation tracker and a set of downloadable guides. More about HikmahBridge.

Is HikmahBridge free?

The Qur’an Reader, the Qur’an reading & Tajweed course, the Tafsir library, the Hadith library and the memorisation tracker are free to use. Some in-depth guides are paid downloads. Free and paid items are clearly labelled.

Who is behind HikmahBridge?

HikmahBridge is an independent Islamic learning project. It is a resource, not a substitute for a qualified teacher — for personal rulings we encourage you to consult a knowledgeable scholar in your context.

Is HikmahBridge a substitute for studying with a scholar?

No. It is general education. Where a matter depends on your circumstances, or where mainstream scholars differ, we point you to a qualified scholar rather than give a single answer.

Qur’an & learning tools

Where do the Qur’an text and recitation come from?

Arabic text, translations and audio are retrieved from established open Qur’an data services and shown as supplied, with named reciters. Details are on the Sources & Methodology page.

Can I track my Qur’an memorisation?

Yes. The Hifz tracker saves your progress privately in your own browser. It is not linked to an account and is not shared with anyone.

Is the Tajweed course complete?

It is a step-by-step reading path of 13 lessons. Your progress through it is saved in your browser as you go.

Does the Tafsir cover the whole Qur’an?

It follows the digital edition of Tafsir Ibn Kathir supplied by the source dataset, arranged by Surah and Ayah. Where the source has no entry for a particular ayah, the page says so rather than showing something else.

Sources & authenticity

Does HikmahBridge grade Hadith?

No. Gradings shown in the Hadith library are taken from the source dataset and attributed to the scholar who issued them. HikmahBridge does not grade Hadith itself.

Is any of the content AI-generated?

No Qur’an text, Hadith text, translations, gradings or Tafsir is AI-generated or paraphrased by us. All of it comes from named datasets and editions and is shown as supplied.

Why does a section sometimes say something is “not available”?

Because the underlying source does not provide it — for example, several Hadith collections have no Roman-letter transliteration in the dataset. We show that gap honestly instead of generating a substitute.

What if I find a mistake?

Please contact us. We review every report and correct confirmed errors — mis-attributed narrations, broken source links, translation problems and wrong status labels included.

Audio

Is there English audio for Tafsir Ibn Kathir?

Not currently. No suitable verified recording of this Tafsir in English was found, so English Tafsir audio is left out rather than replaced with something unverifiable.

Is the Tafsir Urdu audio synced to each ayah?

No. It is a single full-surah Urdu narration and is labelled as such. It is offered as a listening resource for the whole Surah, not verse by verse.

Accounts & saved progress

Do I need an account?

Not for the free learning tools. Bookmarks, reading position and memorisation progress are saved locally in your browser. A WooCommerce account is only needed to buy and access paid guides.

Is my saved progress synced across devices?

No. Progress saved in the browser stays on that device and that browser. If you clear your browser data it will be lost.

Is there a newsletter?

Not yet. Planned: a subscription option is not yet available. In the meantime, use the contact page to get in touch and we will let you know when it is ready.
